Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and The Bookish, and is a book blogging feature where every week there is a different ‘top ten’ list of books to make.
This week’s list is new favorite author’s that I first read books from in 2015! This list was actually very hard for me because I normally don’t give the title of “favorite author” lightly, even though I have read many many wonderful authors this year. So maybe these aren’t all my favorite authors but just my favorite authors of 2015? Though I love them all very much.
I read The Winner’s Curse over the summer and I was totally hooked. It was SO good, and I just had to include Marie Rutkoski on this list!
#2 – Nina LaCour (Books Read: Everything Leads to You)
Everything Leads to You was such a beautiful book. I absolutely loved it, and I need to make sure to get to more of LaCour’s books in the future!
#3 – Susan Dennard (Books Read: Truthwitch)
There has been so much hype around Susan Dennard’s new book, Truthwitch, lately and I was luck enough to read an ARC! I loved her new book, and so I really need to get to her first series at some point.
#4 – Andy Weir (Books Read: The Martian)
I LOVED the Martian. It was just so good! I believe that The Martian is the only full novel that Andy Weir has published, so I don’t think there is anything else of his out there for me to read. But I know if and when he does publish another book I’ll be sure to pick it up!
#5 – Alexandra Bracken (Books Read: The Darkest Minds trilogy)
I first read The Darkest Minds trilogy this year and oh boy I had no idea what I was missing! I real the entire trilogy and all the novellas, and now I am so excited for everything else that Bracken will be publishing! Definitely an author I will keep reading.
#6 – Shannon Messenger (Books Read: The Keeper of the Lost Cities series)
I read the entirety of the Keeper of the Lost Cities this year (all four books!) and really loved it! I’ll need to get to Messenger’s YA trilogy soon!
#7 – Becky Albertalli (Books Read: Simon Vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda)
Simon Vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda was Albertalli’s debut and it was just so adorable and well done.
#8 – Brittany Cavallaro (Books Read: A Study In Charlotte)
Okay, this kind of feels like cheating because A Study In Charlotte is Cavallaro’s debut novel and is yet to be released, but I loved it so much that I had to include Brittany Cavallaro!
#9 + #10 – Amie Kauffman and Jay Kristoff (Books Read: Illuminae)
I will readily admit I have not read any of Kauffman or Kristoff’s separate works. But I love Illuminae so much, so I am putting them on this list as new favorite authors.
