Top Ten Books on my Fall TBR

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and The Bookish, and is a book blogging feature where every week there is a different ‘top ten’ list of books to make.

It is nearly the end of Tuesday but I have decided last minute to write a quick post on this week’s TTT topic, which is a fall TBR! I love fall and I LOVE fall book releases, so here goes!

#1 – Shadows of Self (Mistborn #5) by Brandon Sanderson

I’ve had a bit of a Mistborn obsession ever since I read the first trilogy over the summer. I read Alloy of Law last month I really loved the whole steampunk mystery vibe, so I am super excited to read the next book with these new characters! Tor also has a five chapter excerpt up of this book, and I read it so now I want the whole story even more. So that’s my problem right now…

#2 – Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

I’ve been so hyped about this book ever since it was announced because it is just so ridiculously meta. A book version of a fanfiction based on a fictional book series inside a book which has similarities to a not-so-fictional book series outside of the book. Plus that cover is freaking gorgeous and, well, magic school. (I’m a sucker for magic school) Also Rainbow Rowell is gonna be in my city for the tour for this book! YAY! This was definitely preordered yesterday.

#3 – The Sword of Summer (Magnus Chase #1) by Rick Riordan

New Rick Riordan myth series, so, YES?

#4 – Winter (The Lunar Chronicles #4) by Marissa Meyer

The Lunar Chronicles are awesome. This book is going to be giant. Giant books are awesome. This is going to be AWESOME SQUARED. AND MARISSA MEYER IS COMING TO SAINT PAUL. (for an “ball” event I will be working at!!) I’M FREAKING OUT. (and naturally I preordered this beauty too)

#5 – This Monstrous Thing by Mackenzi Lee

I’ve been wanting to read this book since I saw its beautiful cover and discovered it was a frankenstein retelling. It also came out TODAY! Which means I have a copy I will be reading soon-ish.

#6 – Through the Dark (The Darkest Minds Novellas) by Alexandra Bracken

I REALLY LOVE The Darkest Minds trilogy. But I never got to any of the novellas (oops) so having a bind up where I can read them all at once is gonna be awesome!

#7 – Neverseen (Keeper of the Lost Cities #4) by Shannon Messenger

I’d say my current favorite ongoing middle grade series is the Keeper of the Lost Cities series. It is beautiful and imaginative and happy and sad and I want to hug all of the main characters. Also, I may have mentioned I love magic schools, and, well, magic school…. But seriously, the third book, Everblaze, ended in a way that makes me NEED this installment. I need it so much that I preordered it yesterday! (Though the preorder thing might also have to do with the possible giveaway and the gorgeous cover)

#8 – See How They Run (Embassy Row #2) by Ally Carter

This might be pushing the definition of fall (December 22nd) but this is one of the books on the very top of my TBR right now! All Fall Down was great and Ally Carter was great and this book will probably make me sad like the first one but I know it will be great. Did I mention I love Ally Carter’s books?

#9 – Truthwitch (Witchlands #1) by Susan Dennard

So technically this book isn’t out until next year but someone at the bookstore I review for may have told me there’s ARC I can read. 😉 I am SO EXCITED.

#10 – Illuminae (The Illuminae Files #1) by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

Okay, okay, I know I talk about Illuminae too much. BUT I preordered it yesterday and am totally going to reread it when I have that beautious hardcover in my hands.

I would also have Calamity (Reckoners #3) on this list but that book isn’t going to be released until next year… *cries* I don’t think I’m gonna make it.

So, do you have any of these books on your fall TBR? (and don’t forget to leave your TTT links!)
